Tatajuba is probably the best destination for training big air that I've ever been to - honestly! Sandbanks form and separate the ocean into several flat-water lagoons. The flat water gives you idyllic take offs on every jump.
The wind pumps in season! Janek and I (two experienced big air riders) are on 9 or 8 XR's pretty much every day. The best time of year to be here is September to November. September and October are the best, in my opinion. The wind starts at about 11 or 12 o clock every day, but the best winds are typically in the afternoon. In order to ensure you aren't in dangerous, ankle-deep water, you typically want the tide to be somewhere between mid and high tide in the afternoons. So keep an eye on the tides when planning your trip!
Getting to Tatajuba is difficult without a 4x4 or a buggy. You don't need a car once you're here though, so I recommend simply parking your car in Coite and arranging a buggy with your pousada. There are several local pousadas (hotels) and restaurants. They offer excellent service! We especially enjoy Kite Worldwide and Sunset Kiteboarding.
We offer big air kite camps and coaching in Tatajuba, so be sure check our trip offers and join us in this big air paradise!
