Destination Summary

South Denmark

Southern Denmark - cold. lonely. windy.

The great thing about Southern Denmark is that you got the north sea on your left, and the baltic sea on your right within only 2 hours of driving. This allows to you go out for a sick session no matter where the wind is coming from. Some of the best spots are Kagnaes for winds from southeast and Halk for winds coming from the southwest.

In Denmark you have wind almost all year round although there is no or very weak thermal wind. Therefore you always have to be a little lucky to get some wind when you are ready. The best seasons for big air kiting are definitely in spring and fall!
Furthermore Denmark has a very low population density. Thus you will regularly find yourself being the only one at a spot. With only few kiters looking for the best flat water spots there are only little regulations in regard to where you are allowed to kite. As long as you are not in a national park you can go kiting wherever you feel like you might be finding some good kickers to crush your latest WOO record!
Last but not least: Be sure not to forget your wetsuit! Although the summer can get rather hot with degrees of above 30°C the spring and fall winds should be enjoyed in a 3-5mm wetsuit.
